Part of the "Silver Moonlight" series, this vessel is a study in quietude and tactile form. Eschewing the mechanical precision of the pottery wheel, master artisan Niu Fangfang shapes each piece using the ancient Hand-Patting technique. This process allows the clay to retain its organic tension, resulting in subtle irregularities that make the cup feel alive in the palm of your hand. The silver glaze will develop a unique patina over time, echoing the passage of time and the ritual of use.

Crafting Hours: 73H
Crafting Hours: 73H
1. Shaping — 5 hours
Each cup is individually hand-thrown on the pottery wheel. After the main form is created, every piece is carefully refined, shaped, and carved with surface texture before being left to dry naturally.
2. Bisque Firing & Cooling — 18 hours
The dried ceramic pieces are placed into the kiln for their first low-temperature firing. After cooling, each piece is further sanded and refined.
3. Glazing — 4 hours
The bisque-fired cups are decorated with underglaze color and coated with ceramic glaze.
4. High-Temperature Firing & Cooling — 20 hours
The glazed cups are loaded into the kiln again for high-temperature firing, followed by a slow cooling process to stabilize the ceramic body and glaze surface.
5. First Quality Selection — 1 hour
Each piece is carefully inspected, and any damaged or imperfect cups are removed.
6. Silver Glaze Application — 4 hours
The silver glaze is applied layer by layer through a delicate hand-finishing process, creating the signature metallic surface.
7. Low-Temperature Firing & Cooling — 18 hours
The silver-glazed cups are fired once more at a lower temperature, allowing the silver finish to bond securely to the ceramic glaze surface.
8. Final Selection, Sanding & Polishing — 3 hours
Each finished cup goes through a final inspection. The silver surface is then carefully sanded and polished to achieve a refined, luminous finish.

The exterior is enveloped in a thick, genuine Silver Glaze. Unlike industrial finishes, this surface is designed to live and breathe. Over time, through contact with tea, air, and the oils of your hands, the silver will develop a unique patina. This transformation is not a flaw, but a narrative—a visual record of the time spent between the object and its owner.

Frequently Asked Question
How are your silver-glazed ceramics made?
How are your silver-glazed ceramics made?
Crafted by master artisan Niu Fangfang in Jingdezhen, each piece begins with earthen clay shaped entirely by hand—eschewing the traditional pottery wheel. After an initial firing at 1270°C, real silver overglaze is hand-painted and refired multiple times at around 800°C, creating a complex, multi-faceted sculptural form with a unique luster.
Why does my ceramic piece look slightly different from the photo?
Why does my ceramic piece look slightly different from the photo?
Because our artisan uses an ancient hand-patting technique, the clay retains its natural structural tension. This deliberate process ensures that every geometric vase and espresso cup features subtle, one-of-a-kind variations in shape, size, and silver texture. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Are silver-glazed ceramics microwave and dishwasher safe?
Are silver-glazed ceramics microwave and dishwasher safe?
No, they are strictly hand-wash only. The signature surface is created with genuine silver. Using a microwave will cause a metal reaction, and the harsh chemicals or extreme heat in dishwashers will ruin the hand-painted finish. Treat these vessels like fine silverware to protect their delicate beauty.
Are the silver-glazed cups safe for drinking tea or coffee?
Are the silver-glazed cups safe for drinking tea or coffee?
This cup is designed for small servings of tea, espresso, or sake. The drinking surface is glazed ceramic, while the silver-luster finish is treated as a delicate exterior surface. Please avoid microwaves, dishwashers, abrasive cleaners, and prolonged storage of highly acidic liquids. As with all handmade ceramics, we recommend gentle everyday use and hand washing only.
Will the silver glaze tarnish or change color over time?
Will the silver glaze tarnish or change color over time?
Yes, and this is an intentional part of the design. Real silver naturally oxidizes when exposed to air, light, and the warmth of your touch. Over time, the bright silver will develop a soft, warm patina. We embrace this wabi-sabi aesthetic as it records the passage of time and the quiet history of your daily use.
I noticed some yellowing or dark spots on my silver vessel. Is it defective?
I noticed some yellowing or dark spots on my silver vessel. Is it defective?
Not at all. These spots are the natural result of silver oxidation. This "living finish" is the true hallmark of genuine silver luster. The surface is sensitive to its environment and transforms uniquely for every owner, adding a soulful, lived-in character to your artisanal goods.
How can I restore the original shine to my silver-glazed cup or vase?
How can I restore the original shine to my silver-glazed cup or vase?
If you prefer the original, luminous silver finish over the oxidized patina, you can easily restore it. Gently wipe the surface using a soft silver-polishing cloth or a mild silver cleaning paste. Always avoid abrasive scrubbing pads, which can permanently scratch the glaze.
