Crafted by master artisan Niu Fangfang in Jingdezhen, each piece begins with earthen clay shaped entirely by hand—eschewing the traditional pottery wheel. After an initial firing at 1270°C, real silver overglaze is hand-painted and refired multiple times at around 800°C, creating a complex, multi-faceted sculptural form with a unique luster.

Why does my ceramic piece look slightly different from the photo?

Because our artisan uses an ancient hand-patting technique, the clay retains its natural structural tension. This deliberate process ensures that every geometric vase and espresso cup features subtle, one-of-a-kind variations in shape, size, and silver texture. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Are the silver-glazed cups safe for drinking tea or coffee?

What Is Liezhi Rag Weaving?

Liezhi, or 裂织, is a traditional Chinese form of rag weaving that transforms reclaimed fabric strips into new handwoven cloth. Instead of treating old or leftover textiles as waste, the fabric is cut or torn into narrow strips, then woven again to create a new material with rich texture, natural color variation, and a deeply tactile surface.

Unlike ordinary printed or machine-made fabric, every piece of Liezhi Fabric carries the marks of its original materials. Can I machine wash Liezhi Fabric?

Machine washing is not recommended. The rewoven structure may be affected by strong spinning, friction, or heat. For best results, gently spot clean or hand wash with cold water only when necessary.

Is Liezhi Fabric a defected or damaged fabric?

No. Liezhi Fabric is not damaged fabric. The irregular raised texture is intentionally created through the rewoven structure. What may look like “cracks” are actually woven layers formed by reclaimed textile strips.

Larger products or pieces with wider Liezhi Fabric coverage require more material and more handwork. A more refined composition with richer texture and better color harmony usually requires more careful material selection and craftsmanship.

How do I clean and care for Liezhi Fabric?

Liezhi Fabric has a special rewoven structure, so frequent washing is not recommended.

For daily care, gently remove dust or spot clean when needed. If washing is necessary, hand wash only with cold water. Avoid hot water, machine washing, hard scrubbing, long soaking, bleach, high-temperature drying, and direct sunlight. Proper care helps preserve the texture, shape, and lifespan of the fabric.
